I needed to take an offline static copy of a multiple worpress installation I run (www.pedallingaround.com) so that we could keep it for posterity. Copying the files and database was easy enough, but then it meant needing to run an web and mysql server – on both Mac and PC.
So I had a hunt about and managed to find a tool call HTTrack which does the job – its running away at the moment downloading the whole website and converting dynamic php pages to static HTML. Simple!
Sorry for the geeky post non-geeky readers but had to write it down somewhere
