Four of us from the office managed to get our collective butts in gear and get out for a bike ride this evening straight after work.
The route we followed was basically this one with a bit of a detour in Balerno to steal some home baking from mum’s (she wasn’t in!)
Quite a few hills on the way out – and into the wind. The way back was all downhill and the wind was behind though so it was easy riding.
Nobody had to push their bikes anywhere so a collective pat on the back for making it round in one piece to
Andrew Casson (organiser)
Euan Green (on girlfriend’s bike)
John Watson (handlebars point the wrong way)
and me

The stats for me (others will have had further to go on the way home) are as follows
Total of 22.2 miles
Average 9.9mph
Max 23.1 mph
Cycling Time 2h13m56s
There will no doubt be a few aches and pains in the office tomorrow.
