After over a year of attempting to get by on the latest technology we have finally dropped our voip phone number from BT.
It was cheap – at about £5.99 a month but maybe it was cheap because it was awful…
My sis in Glasgow on NTL couldn’t phone it (number unobtainable) to start with but could later on
My mum in Edinburgh on Telewest has never been able to phone it (number unobtainable).
For the past month I think it worked for a day when we could dial out, otherwise it has been a dead line. People could phone us but if it went to the BT answer machine we couldn’t pick it up!
They are supposedly sending out prepaid packaging for the router(s) but if its not here in a week then I will ceremoniusly break them and post pictures here on the web.
Before you ask, I had done everything I was supposed to do – including having the phone router be the DMZ for all packets hitting my ADSL modem router (look it up if you don’t understand…)
So our new number is…. only joking… no way I’m posting it on the net.
