I’m not known for being the world’s biggest footy fan but was persuaded to enter a fantasy football team for the recently ended world cup.
Euan kindly ran the whole campaign to get us all signed up and front up a nominal entry fee. Not knowing who to pick I clicked auto-select to pick my initial team. From there the team did okay – in fact I was winning so I started to take it a bit more seriously and made some educated (read lucky) transfers all the way up until the final and 3rd place play-off.
2nd place team might have been only 1 point behind if ZZ had not foolishly head butted an opponent but as it turns out I won by 4 whole points out of 300+ . Phew! bit to close for comfort.
I’ll being taking Lorraine out for a French meal with the winnings – since they provided most of my points throughout the closing stage I think…
