Its odd how we always return to old favourites in life.
Here in the office we have recently ditched Motocross Madness 2 and Midnight Club 2 in favour of good old Counter-Strike. (The original one – version 1.5 for those who are interested)
With 5 of us and 3 bots it can lead to some uneven matches but its still great fun. (Although often frustrating). There is no arguing about who is the best anymore since we are running Ground Shield Statistics which allocate us scores based on many factors.
At home I suddenly realised I installed Half Life 2 when it first came out, completed it, and then promptly forgot all about it. So I fired up steam and updated Counter-Strike: Source and WOW! What a difference. Only played against the bots so far to get myself up to speed on the changed maps and abilities but WOW! Looks and plays great – and that is saying something cos the first one was spot on too. The Bots chat away to each other pointing out where they are and who they’ve seen. Feels like us in the office shouting at each other!
Off to practise some more so I can get online again without feeling like a n00b.
Cool – with another 3 players just recruited in the office we might actually get a pure human 4 on 4 game going one day…
